Despite its transit reputation, Padangbai draws divers and snorkelers to sites like Blue Lagoon and Bias Tugal (White Sand Beach), where reef sharks and sea turtles are regular sightings.

Most hotels and guesthouses line Jl. Silayukti or cluster above the main harbor beach. Budget homestays dominate, though several mid-range properties offer sea-view terraces.
