The Royal Pita Maha
Desa Kedewatan
About The Royal Pita Maha
Twenty private pool villas cascade down the Ayung River gorge at Royal Pita Maha in Kedewatan, one of Ubud's oldest royal family compounds turned luxury retreat — the Tjokorda family's ancestral land borders the property directly.
Each villa opens onto dense jungle canopy rather than a neighbouring structure; the river is audible from every terrace. The resort's Ayung Terrace restaurant holds a cantilevered position above the gorge, making it one of the few dining rooms in Bali with an unobstructed river valley view on three sides.
Kedewatan sits roughly three kilometres northwest of central Ubud, quieter than the Monkey Forest corridor. The Ayung white-water rafting launch point is a short walk downhill from the resort's lower gardens.
