About Andalo

Andalo

Andalo sits at 1,042 metres above sea level in the Paganella massif, Trentino, roughly 30 kilometres north of Trento. The town anchors the Paganella Ski Area, which links four villages across 50 kilometres of marked runs. Lifts open from December through April; the Paganella cable car reaches 2,125 metres in under 15 minutes. Summer draws mountain bikers and hikers to the same slopes, with trails connecting to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park — the largest protected area in Trentino.

Most visitors are Italian families and Central European skiers drawn by the compact resort layout: the main ski hub is a short walk from nearly every hotel in town. The lakeside promenade around Lago di Andalo, a small glacial lake at the village centre, stays busy in July and August when temperatures average 22 °C. Outdoor pools, a wellness circuit, and cross-country tracks along the Sarca valley make the town a four-season destination rather than a purely winter resort.

Andalo falls within the Dolomiti di Brenta UNESCO World Heritage buffer zone, designated in 2009. Direct bus connections run from Trento railway station to Andalo village in approximately 50 minutes.
