About Campodenno
Campodenno
Campodenno sits in the Val di Non, Trentino, at roughly 400 metres above sea level, about 25 km north of Trento. The valley is one of Italy's leading apple-growing zones — the IGP-certified Renetta Canadà and Fuji varieties ripen here each autumn beneath the Brenta Dolomites. Medieval towers define the skyline; Castel Bragher, a 13th-century fortress inside the municipality, is among the valley's most photographed landmarks and sits above terraced orchards that stretch toward the Noce river.
Visitors come mainly in summer and autumn. Hikers use Campodenno as a base for trails into the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, while food travellers seek out the local grappa distilleries and farm shops in nearby Dermulo and Flavon. Cyclists ride the Anello della Val di Non, a roughly 60 km loop circling Lake Tovel and the valley floor — a route that passes through the municipality's hamlets. Winter brings quieter stays suited to cross-country skiing in the broader Trentino network.
The nearest rail connection is Mezzocorona station, about 12 km south, on the Trento–Bolzano line, with year-round bus services continuing up the valley.
