About Fai della Paganella

Fai della Paganella

Fai della Paganella sits at 958 metres on the Paganella plateau in Trentino, northern Italy — one of the highest villages in the Adige valley catchment. The plateau rises to 2,125 metres at the summit, served by a cable car and chairlifts linking the village directly to the Paganella ski area. In winter, the resort shares 50 km of groomed pistes with neighbouring Andalo and Molveno, making it a compact but well-connected alpine destination. The village itself is small — a few hundred residents — with a historic centre of stone houses, a Romanesque church, and unobstructed sightlines toward Lake Molveno below and the Brenta Dolomites to the west.

Summer draws a different crowd: trail runners, mountain bikers, and families using the plateau's network of marked paths. The Alta Via della Paganella links the ridge to viewpoints overlooking the Adige valley and Lago di Garda on clear days. Paragliders launch regularly from the plateau rim. The area sits within the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, so wildlife corridors are protected and the landscape remains largely free of development above the treeline.

Most hotels in Fai della Paganella operate on half-board packages aligned with ski season (December to April) and summer hiking season (June to September). The village is 17 km from Trento and roughly 60 km from Bolzano, both reachable by car via the SS421.
