Il Loft nel Borgo

Eight kilometres from the Cinque Terre national park boundary, Il Loft nel Borgo sits on via Dante inside Lerici's medieval centro storico, a short climb from the 13th-century Castello di Lerici that commands the Gulf of Poets.

The name signals the concept: loft-format rooms within a historic borgo building, where the vertical proportions of old Ligurian construction allow open upper sleeping areas above compact living spaces. Lerici's waterfront promenade and ferry point to Portovenere lie a five-minute walk downhill.

The gulf earned its literary name from the Romantic poets who lived and died here — Byron swam across to visit Shelley at San Terenzo, visible from the castle ramparts. Lerici draws a fraction of the Cinque Terre crowds while offering the same sheltered coves and clearer water.
