Six centuries of Amalfi Coast history frame Hotel Palazzo Murat, a 18th-century baroque palazzo on Via Dei Mulini where Joachim Murat, Napoleon's brother-in-law, once summered. The original wing's frescoed ceilings and stone archways remain intact alongside a jasmine-draped courtyard garden.

Rooms in the historic wing carry period furnishings and hand-painted Vietri ceramics; the newer annexe trades ornate detail for larger terraces with sea views. Neither category is identical in layout, and room selection by view preference is worth discussing at booking.

Positano's pebble beach and the ferry dock to Capri sit four minutes downhill on foot. The coastal path toward Praiano begins one street above the property.
