Thiniscole/Siniscola is a coastal town on Sardinia's eastern shore, in the Nuoro province, roughly 50 km north of Nuoro city. The town sits between the Supramonte limestone massif and the Tyrrhenian Sea — a geography that shapes both its landscape and its economy. The historic center retains traditional Sardinian stone architecture, while the coastline extends through a series of sandy beaches including La Caletta, the town's main seaside district, and the wilder coves toward Capo Comino.

Visitors arrive primarily for the beaches and clear water of the Gulf of Orosei's northern edge. La Caletta has a small marina and a fishing port still in active use — giving the area a working character alongside its tourism. Hikers and cyclists use Siniscola as a base for routes into the Baronia interior, where cork oak forests and rural villages see far fewer tourists than the coast. The town hosts the traditional Carnival and several summer festivals tied to the local agropastoral calendar.

Siniscola has a permanent population of around 11,000. The nearest airport is Olbia Costa Smeralda, approximately 80 km north — a drive of roughly one hour via the SS125 and SS131dcn roads.
