Twelve rooms wrap a central courtyard at Riad Mamouche, built into the ksar of Hassilabiad on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes — a mud-brick village three kilometres north of Merzouga proper, reachable by a sandy track that keeps day-trip traffic away. Rooms suit travellers overnighting before or after dune excursions rather than long stays.

The rooftop terrace faces the dunes directly, and staff arrange camel departures timed to sunset from the riad's own gate rather than a shared meeting point. Berber-run kitchens serve tagine dinners around a shared fire pit most evenings.
