Cantinho do Talasnal

Five stone cottages make up Cantinho do Talasnal, restored in the schist-village style of Talasnal, deep in the Serra da Lousã hills above Coimbra. Slate roofs and thick rubble walls keep rooms cool through summer; family rooms open directly onto the village's narrow stepped lanes.

Free parking sits at the village edge, since Talasnal's paths are pedestrian-only. Coimbra's university city waits roughly forty minutes by car, making this a base for hikers first, sightseers second.
