Hostal Pampaneira

Six rooms anchor this three-star hostal at the entrance to Pampaneira, the lowest of the three Alpujarran white villages stacked above the Poqueira Gorge, roughly 75 kilometres south of Granada city. The GR-7 long-distance trail passes through the village square, making it a natural base for hikers crossing the Sierra Nevada foothills.

The on-site restaurant leans on Alpujarran staples — plato alpujarreño, cured meats from Trevélez — and the bar draws both guests and locals after the trails clear. Free parking matters here: the village sits at 1,060 metres on narrow mountain roads where buses run infrequently.

Check-in opens at 14:00; the surrounding Poqueira Gorge trails are best started before 09:00 in summer to avoid midday heat.
