Ardón is a small municipality in the province of León, Castile and León, northwestern Spain. It sits in the Esla river valley, roughly 15 km south of León city, at the edge of the Páramo Leonés plateau. The surrounding landscape is defined by cereal fields, vineyards, and the flat tablelands that characterise this part of the Meseta. The area falls within the Denominación de Origen Tierra de León wine zone, where Prieto Picudo — a grape variety native to the province — produces deep red wines with marked acidity.
