About Cala Sant Vicenç
Cala Sant Vicenç sits at the northern tip of Mallorca, roughly 6 km from Pollença, sheltered by the Serra de Tramuntana mountains behind and the Mediterranean ahead. The village is built around four named coves — Cala Barques, Cala Molins, Cala Clara, and Cala Carbó — each with calm, shallow water that runs a deep turquoise rare even by Balearic standards. The seabed is largely rock and posidonia seagrass, which keeps visibility high and crowds relatively low compared with the island's southern resorts.
Visitors here tend to prioritise water quality over nightlife. Snorkelling directly from the shore is the main draw, and the surrounding cliffs attract climbers from across Europe. The Cap de Formentor peninsula, one of Mallorca's most photographed headlands, lies about 12 km to the northeast along the MA-2200 road. Walkers use Cala Sant Vicenç as a base for the GR221 long-distance route that threads through the Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape since 2011.
The village has a small concentration of hotels and apartments within a short walk of the coves — no large resort complexes. Most accommodation books out from late June through August; shoulder season in May or September offers the same water clarity with fewer visitors and lower rates.
