Eight-storey above the Mondego riverfront on Avenida Emídio Navarro, the Internacional guesthouse occupies one of Coimbra's older mid-rise addresses directly opposite the riverside promenade. The University of Coimbra's hill campus — a UNESCO site — sits a ten-minute uphill walk from the front door.

Rooms are straightforward: private bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, and linens supplied. No restaurant operates on-site, but the Baixa district's cafés and tascas begin one block north along the avenue.

The location suits travellers using Coimbra as a base: the main train station, Coimbra-B, is a short taxi ride, and the Santa Clara bridge crosses the Mondego within walking distance for the eastern bank gardens.
