Villa Santa Barbara

Forty minutes south of Perugia on the Via Flaminia, Villa Santa Barbara occupies a hillside estate above Spoleto's Roman amphitheatre district, with tile and marble floors carrying through from the entrance hall into each room.

The outdoor pool faces the Umbrian valley, and a terrace with sun deck and solarium extends the usable outdoor space across most of the morning light. The kitchen runs cooking classes using regional ingredients — a detail Booking and TripAdvisor list but which guests note is led by the villa's own chef rather than an outside instructor.

Spoleto's cathedral and the Ponte delle Torri aqueduct bridge are a ten-minute drive; the shuttle service covers both the town centre and the train station on the Rome–Ancona line.
