Fourteen rooms line the old dike road at Durgerdammerdijk 73, a five-star property set in a restored 17th-century fishing village on the IJmeer, roughly 10 kilometres northeast of Amsterdam's centre. The waterfront terrace faces directly onto the lake; the city skyline is visible on clear evenings across the water — a view unavailable from any hotel inside the ring.

Rooms face either the IJmeer or the village's narrow dike path, each individually furnished. The kitchen draws on North Holland produce and fresh-caught eel from local fishermen, a regional detail largely absent from Amsterdam hotel menus.

Durgerdam has no through traffic; the road ends at the dike. Bus line 39 connects to Amsterdam Centraal in around 25 minutes, making it a practical base for travellers who want city access without city noise.
